Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools, New Haven Style!

Yesterday was a great day for New Haven Public Schools! We christened one of our newest salad bars that was donated by the United Fresh Produce Association Foundation and NatureSeal to Mauro-Sheridan School as part of Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools.

To help us celebrate this momentous occasion we enlisted the help of Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, US Department of Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary Dr. Janey Thornton and New England Patriots Defensive Lineman Ron Brace who spoke with students and administrators about the importance of healthy eating and joined students for a trip through the salad bar!

Despite the two hour delayed opening of school from an ice strom the event went off without a hitch because of the support of the entire school community.
