Chef Tim will give the opening keynote at SNA of Massachusetts ABCs of USDA Foods Conference this Thursday!

This Thursday I have been invited to give the opening keynote presentation at the SNA Massachusetts ABC's of USDA Foods Conference in Boxborough, MA. Immediately following SNA of Massachusetts President’s Welcome, I will present the keynote, titled "Thinking Outside the Lunch Box".

Discover new ways to shape and design your school meals programs. Tim Cipriano, Chef and Executive Director of Food Services in New Haven, CT, is passionate about school nutrition and childhood hunger.


Let’s Move! Chef, Tim Cipriano will start the day with exciting stories from the front lines, hear how your peers divert their commodities, and learn how to increase your participation rates.


He will share his stories on how his passions have helped shape New Haven’s meal programs into one of the most progressive programs in the country all while increasing reimbursable meal counts, increasing revenue and keeping expenses down. All that and no chicken nuggets!


As part of the Chefs Move to Schools initiative he is on the cutting edge of child nutrition, working with the First Lady’s office, Congress, and the USDA. Tim is a dynamic speaker with lots to share.

The conference continues with presentations on:

-Massachusetts School Nutrition Bill Update

-Learn How to Increase Your Participation

-Commodity Exhibits


-Commodity Cooking Demo- These cooking demos will feature new ways to use your USDA Foods  
                                              Commodities. Chef Tim will be making a simple, yet flavorful Black Bean & 
                                              Corn Salsa. I will be joined  on the Kitchen Cooking Demo Stage by Bridget
                                              Collins, Assistant Food Service Director and Chef/Nutrition Coordinator in
                                              Medford Public Schools, and Dennis McAlary, the new Let’s Move! chef
                                              in the Manchester/Essex School District.
