I just received word from our Lobbyist that funding for the Healthy Foods Initiative has been restored by the Appropriations Committee!
This is great news for the children of Connecticut!
It is a great day in CT when the Legislators stand up for what is RIGHT for the children of CT.
Gov. Rell's proposal would have taken healthy foods out of the mouths of our school children, and that is UNACCEPTABLE!
Without the proper funding from both the state and federal levels we will not see any significant change in school meals, thank you to the CT Legislators on the Appropriations Committee who stood up for the health of our children!
