Today New Haven Public Schools under the direction of Dr. Reginald Mayo and Will Clark donated the fixings for a Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner including a Turkey to 1,100 New Haven families through our schools. Representatives of NHPS, NH School Food, AFB Facilities Management, Local 287 and others met at the NHPS Central Kitchen, and packed the trucks with the food.
Each family will receive a 12-15lb turkey, box of instant potatoes, cans of vegetables, stuffing, dinner rolls and an apple pie!
On Monday 11/22/10 over 20 volunteers came to the NHPS Central Kitchen and packed 1,100 boxes of dry goods in just over an hour!
All the food was paid for through sponsorship and through donations to S. Youth Fiundation-New Haven, a registered 501c3 non profit organization. For more information on how to donate contact Ellie at 203-275-8370 or email erodriguez@afbcm.com
