Sound School Rain Barrels for sale!

The Sound School Regional Aquaculture Center would like to announce to New Haven city employees that we are again working with The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority on ‘Project Rain Barrel’. This collaborative project gives our students an opportunity to interface with industry on a current environmental issue. The students not only get to see how/why projects are started and completed, they also get an opportunity to take action. This year our students manufactured one hundred (100) rain barrel kits as a way to raise awareness on the effects of combined sewer overflow and its impact on Long Island Sound.

If you are a City of New Haven employee, you can purchase a rain barrel kit for $50 ($75 to non city employees). The kits includes a gutter adaptor, overflow elbow, bottom discharge valve and an informational packet.

Barrels are available on a first come, first served basis.

You can request your rain barrel and schedule a pick up time, by emailing Steve Joseph at steve.joseph@new-haven.k12.ct.us

Rain barrels will be available at
The Sound School
17 Sea Street
New Haven, CT 06519
203-946-7106

Proceeds from this project will benefit The Sound School Student Entrepreneurship Initiative.

This is a representation of what a rain barrel looks like, not the actual barrel.
